Holiday Telescope Help Seminars
and Telescope Basics Class

2008 Holiday Telescope Help Seminar

Thursday, January 3, 2008, 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

The Holiday Telescope Help Seminar is a one night special class to help you with the assembly and operation of any telescope you may have. The goal of this class is to insure your telescope is properly assembled and that you understand the basic use and operation of the telescope. We will help you assemble it if you are having difficulty. You will learn how to align your telescope, use the various accessories, and find interesting objects to view, such as star clusters, nebula, and galaxies.

Telescope Basics Class

2008 class dates are TBD

These are "Hands and Eyes" on classes under the stars where you use telescopes and binoculars to observe the evening sky. Telescopes and binoculars will be available for your use or bring your own. Binocular and telescope basics are explained, and the limitations of size and types are discussed. Learn to identify the constellations and listen to sky folklore; learn how to use planispheres and star charts to find your way to interesting objects to observe; learn how to set-up and use a telescope.

Observe the moon, planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies. See detailed views of craters on the moon, the cloud bands of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, nebulae, and galaxies millions of light-years away. Also learn simple techniques for photographing the night sky and the moon. Photographic equipment will be available for your use or bring your own.

For more information and fees contact the Challenger Space Center of Arizona (623) 322-2001.

The Challenger Space Center
is located at 21170 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria, Arizona   85382.

This is a great NOVELTY GIFT for someone who has everything.

Contact Stargazing For Everyone to look through our telescopes to see your special star!!

Celestial objects belong to everyone, and official names for them can ONLY be assigned by the International Astronomical Union. The IAU will not name stars in return for money. Any company or organization other than the IAU which claims to be "OFFICIALLY" naming stars is engaging in a deceptive trade practice and is subject to legal action.
